ADD Management, in partnership with R-Motorsport, are pleased to announce that Jake Dennis has signed for the BMW i Andretti Motorsport Formula E team in 2021, marking the British driver’s return to single-seater racing.

He will partner German driver Maximilian Günther as the team looks to build on a promising 2019/20 campaign where BMW i Andretti Motorsport scored three victories and ended fifth in the teams' championship.

The Andretti team has a wealth of motorsport experience, winning the Indianapolis 500 five times and claiming four IndyCar titles. Andretti has also been a mainstay in Formula E since its inaugural season in 2014/15 and teamed up with German manufacturer BMW in 2018.

Jake is no stranger to single-seater racing having spent a couple of years in FIA Formula 3 before switching to the GP3 Series in 2016. More recently, he was selected to be a Simulator and Development driver for Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, where he tested the RB14 in the Barcelona and Hungary tests in 2018.

Outside of single-seaters, the 25-year-old competed for R-Motorsport in the some of the biggest worldwide championships such as Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM), the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and the Intercontinental GT Challenge, continually showing his adaptability and versatility.

Jake will make his debut in the all-electric series in January 2021, where it begins its new season in Chile for the Santiago ePrix.

ADD Management, in collaboration with R-Motorsport, are delighted by the news and are expecting a bright future ahead for Jake in 2021.

Fraser Sheader, Director of ADD Management, said:

“ADD Management is delighted by the news that Jake will be competing in next season’s Formula E championship. Since joining us in September we wanted to ensure Jake found a competitive seat in a fantastic series. Formula E has continued to grow year on year and houses some of the biggest manufacturers. It’s a worldwide championship and by racing in it, Jake will be able to compete against some of the best drivers and showcase the talent we know he has on a global stage.”

Jake Dennis, BMW i Andretti Motorsport Formula E driver, said:

“I’m really looking forward to the new challenge that awaits me in Formula E, and would like to thank all those in charge at BMW i Andretti Motorsport for their trust. I’m aware that I will be confronted with unique requirements in Formula E, which I will need to get used to first. But versatility has always been one of my strengths, and I am confident that, with the help of the team and my fellow driver Maximilian Günther, I will quickly get my bearings. Formula E is one of those race series that, as a racing driver, you really want to be involved in at the moment because the level of manufacturers, teams and drivers is higher there than anywhere else. I can’t wait to be starting a Formula E race in the BMW iFE.21 for the very first time.”

Dr. Florian Kamelger, R-Motorsport Team Principal, said:

“We congratulate Jake on his graduation to Formula E. One of R-Motorsport’s main objectives has always been to develop the careers of promising young drivers. It has been really fulfilling to be part of helping to create this opportunity for him in partnership with ADD Management. We have always been convinced of Jake’s outstanding talent and obviously, this didn’t remain unnoticed. We want to thank Jake for his valuable contribution to the development and progress of our team and wish him all the best for his next career step and look forward to continuing to collaborate with him in the future.”
