There is never a dull moment for Niklas Krütten. Just one week after his sensational start to the German ADAC Formula 4 campaign, he was back behind the wheel again last weekend, this time in the season opener of the equivalent Italian F4 series at the Adria International Raceway. As a member of the BWT Mücke Motorsport squad and the only German contestant in the entire field, he finished in the Top Three of the Best Rookie classification. Buoyed up by his leadership of the rookie championship in the German ADAC Formula 4 series, Krütten arrived in Italy hoping for similarly strong results.

Sun, wind and rain, and in the middle of it all, Niklas Krütten. The opening weekend of the ADAC Formula 4 in Oschersleben in front of 25,000 spectators had a bit of everything. However, the 15-year-old BWT Mücke Motorsport rookie did not allow the weather conditions to upset him on his first race weekend in the German Formula 4. He finished in the Top Ten in all of the weekend's three races, celebrated his first victory in the rookie classification in the third race, and so, heads the classification for newcomers in the ADAC Formula 4 as he bids farewell to Oschersleben.

Britain’s rising star Lando Norris leads the 2018 FIA Formula 2 Championship by nine-points after the first two races of the season staged at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir last weekend (7-8 Apr). The 18-year-old McLaren Test & Reserve driver – the youngest driver in the 20-car field – scored a dominant, unchallenged victory in the Feature race yesterday – starting from pole-position and setting the fastest lap in the one-hour 31-lap race. In today’s 23-lap Sprint race, Norris recorded fourth place after starting eighth on the “reverse” grid. Saturday’s dominant victory kept Lando’s incredible record of winning from “pole” position in the BRDC F3, Formula Renault, Euro F3 and now F2 categories at the first race of these respective championship opening weekends.

Niklas Krütten made his single-seater racing debut last weekend. At the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, where Formula 1 is an annual visitor, the Mücke Motorsport driver contested his first race weekend in the Formula 4 UAE competition. Krütten sees the junior series in the United Arab Emirates as the ideal preparation for an attempt at the rookie championship in both the German and Italian Formula 4.
