“It was a fun race! A good start, managed to go forwards and battled the Mercedes and the Ferrari for a lap or so, but had to concede those positions and think of my own race. The Alfa got past me on the first lap, around the outside at Turn Four. Not much I could’ve done and dropped back to fourth and then fifth, then had Max behind me for a little bit, so I was in there. I saved my tyres for the first few laps, had it under control then pushed and did what I needed to do, pulled a gap, boxed, and managed the pace from then on.

Last weekend, Niklas Krütten and the Van Amersfoort Racing team were at the Red Bull Ring for the second race weekend of the 2019 ADAC Formula 4. The 16-year-old followed up on his victory in the season opener at Oschersleben with further top results on the track that he likes best of all. The teenager from Trier finished eighth in both of the first two races. For most of the third race on Sunday afternoon, he looked to have victory sewn up but ultimately had to settle for the runner-up spot after being locked in an intense late battle with a team-mate. Taken together, the three results put Krütten on level pegging with another driver at the top of the championship table.

Second race weekend in the Formula 4 Italian Championship. Following on from the rain-hit season opener at Vallelunga, the second race meet took place at Misano's MotoGP circuit in extremely changeable weather. Van Amersfoort Racing driver Niklas Krütten had a strong showing despite the adverse conditions and finished both races on the podium after having started out from fifth on the grid each time. Very heavy rain caused the third round to be stopped and not restarted.
