The ADD Motorsports-supported driver finished in third place twice after performances packed with pace, power and maturity.   

And after moving up to third in the Lamborghini Huracán Championship, the 18-year-old feels he can go on to challenge the leaders as he continues to impress with Team Bonaldi Motorsport.   He said: “I was really happy to finish with two podiums, it feels like things are coming together nicely.   

“The car handles so differently to anything I’m used to, so it has been a steep learning curve. But I’m improving all the time and my confidence is growing race by race. There were a few errors, but my pace was great all weekend. I need to continue taking everything on board and make a few small changes, but I feel like a win isn’t far away. But if I can keep this consistency, there’s no reason why I can’t be challenging for the title come the end of the season.”

Martin got off to a solid start in the Championship, finishing fourth on the opening weekend at Monza last month.  After finishing P2 in practice at Silverstone, he always felt he could get on the podium this time around and was pleased to end up fourth in both qualifiers.   

With 43 Huracán LP 620-2 cars lining up for race one - reaching speeds of 300km/h – it was important to get off to a good start. However, he struggled with his under steer, dropping down to seventh early on. But a few changes in the pit stop saw him come alive and he came back brilliantly to finish third for his maiden podium.  

 Starting fourth again in race two, a slight collision on turn one caused him to spin and drop back to 16th. But a well-timed pit stop, together with some brilliant manoeuvres and blistering pace, saw him fight his way back to third for another excellent podium.

“Martin made a couple of errors, but showed great maturity again this weekend to finish with two podiums. He did a great job. We are really pleased with how Martin is adapting to this new challenge. He’s taking everything on board very quickly and to be third in the Championship with his lack of driving experience and age is impressive. If he keeps working hard and improving at this rate, he will soon be winning these races and a GT3 opportunity will come his way.”
