Croatian driver Martin Kodric took a brilliant Silver Cup victory in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup at Paul Ricard 1000km this weekend (1-2 June).

The FIA Formula 2 Championship reconvenes in France after a four-week break at the end of June with Lando Norris having extended his series lead after impressive races in Monaco this week (25-26 May). The 18-year-old Briton, having led the championship standings since his opening Bahrain race victory (7 Apr), took the chequered flag in sixth and second positions in Monte Carlo. However, Lando was subsequently given a 1.1sec time penalty by race officials late this evening for being in breach of the Virtual Safety Car regulations which dropped him to third in the final Sprint race classification and now leads the title race by 27-points.

Championship leader Lando aiming for Monte Carlo success

In the first round of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship Sacha Fenestraz has already put himself among the front-runners. The Carlin driver confirmed just how much at home he is on city circuits in the streets of Pau with pole position and victory in race 2. Thanks to this stunning performance in the opening weekend of the championship the rookie now leads the overall classification!

Lando Norris retained his FIA Formula 2 Championship lead when the McLaren Test & Reserve driver recorded two third placings in Barcelona this weekend (12-13 May). The 18-year-old will start the next race at Monte Carlo later this month with a 13-points lead advantage after six of this season’s 24 races. The recently re-surfaced 2.9-mile Circuit de Barcelona in Catalunya features a mix of high and low-speed corners, is physically demanding for the driver and mechanically hard on the car. Fifth fastest in a wind-gust affected FP1 (1m29.991s) on Friday morning, Lando was disappointed with himself to post only the eighth fastest time in qualifying later that afternoon (1:28.923).

The second race weekend of the Formula 4 Italian Championship took Niklas Krütten and his team, BWT Mücke Motorsport, to a very special venue last weekend. This year, Formula 1 will be making its return to France on the Circuit Paul Ricard. So before Lewis Hamilton and the like got their opportunity to try the 5.84km circuit out, the youngster was already posting laps of his own.

A few days after his first outing in a Formula 1 car, Sacha Fenestraz will kick off his 2018 season at the Pau Grand Prix (11-13 May). The young 18-year-old driver is setting himself another challenge with the backing of the Renault Sport Academy and – a first – the support of the FFSA Equipe de France by tackling the FIA Formula 3 European Championship with the Carlin team.
